ABOUT
This e-book is the result of 10 years of research, and another 3 years of writing. It was only recently finished after being in hiatus for over a year due to illness and other circumstances.Around 2011, my genealogy database had grown extensive, but all of the information collected was hidden away in individual person and family records, and often that does not allow us to see the big picture of what is happening to a family over time.
I wanted everything I had worked on to be accessible to my family and the general public, but had no way of doing that, aside from publishing the tree. The tree is a wonderful reference tool - but it does not tell a story. The tree has been available for many years over on my RootsWeb ogbo database. I update it from time to time.
Feeling that this was not enough I dusted off my Microsoft Word skills and started to work on The Leavetaking. The book is as complete as I can make it at the moment. It is a version 01 draft as it has not been proofread or corrected.
I am sure that you will find many problems in it. If so then contact me with your list of possible corrections. My e-mail address is in my profile.
The book is written to go into the family history of my mother's family: The Meyers of Germany, Longreach and Rockhampton etc.
I am planning to do a volume on my Maternal Grandmother's family - The Tylers of Suffolk, Westbury in Tasmania, Alton-Downs near Rockhampton, and Orkabie. This book will contain my Convict heritage.
Other volumes on my Maternal great-grandmother's Kasulke family of Pomerania and Maryborough; and another Maternal great-grandmother's Morris family of Ireland and Tasmania, may also be written at some future time.
